OUR STORY

In January 2021 our Founder set out to build a firm that could help organizations serve, support & empower black and brown people in every community.

Our managing partners at NEXT have been colleagues and friends in community development throughout Pierce County for many years and joined forces in late 2021. Rachel & Grant lead NEXT with four core values:

Rachel Askew

Strategy and Innovation

Rachel is on a passionate mission to come alongside organizations and individuals to establish equitable, inclusive, and transformative leaders for world-changing communities. With a BA in Organizational Communication Rachel specializes in executive coaching, strategic action planning, and stakeholder engagement.

Amy Twyman

Director of Administration

Amy is an administrative leader and manager across many platforms. She has over 15 years of experience working and interfacing with clients and customers to help accomplish any task they need. Her background in nonprofit organization, government agencies, and healthcare makes her versatile. She will always figure out a solution.

Grant Twyman

Strategy and Operations

Grant is a strategic leader across public, private, and non-profit sectors nationwide. He specializes in leader development, organizational change, equity literacy, racial equity, policy development, community engagement and youth outreach.

Shirly Palacios

Program Coordinator

With nearly 20 years of support experience Shirly is an organizational savant and a true team player. She is a fluent Spanish speaker and approaches all of our administrative stakeholder engagement with grace and inclusion at the center.

PROJECTS

We collaborate with organizations of all kinds to determine their service gaps and implement strategies to fill them. 

Business Accelerator:

Developed, launched, and executed 9 cohorts of small business accelerators graduating 200 participants in 12 months. Our work included businesses across 11 cities, 9 industries, and 4 languages. Our work included but was not limited to: curriculum development, instructor on-boarding, program management, stakeholder engagement, business recruiting, marketing, and contract administration
 

Executive Coaching:

Collaborated and supported various executive teams such as, school boards, non-profit board of directors, economic development agency board of directors, and executive committees in public and private sector organizations. Our results include: new mission statements, improved organization culture, strategic plans, new policies, increased staff diversity, conflict resolution, new positions, improved hiring practices, and new employee training structures. 


DEI Training & Implementation: Developed and led a series of DEI training and strategy implementation sessions for 100+ businesses, non-profits, and municipalities.
